LaxManiax Club co-founder Paul McCord was the assistant special teams coach for the Baltimore Ravens during their Super Bowl XXXV championship season. His special teams captain and good friend, O.J. Brigance, led the team in tackles for the game, equaling MVP Ray Lewis’ tackle total just from covering kicks.
As inspirational as his play was on the field, his recent battle with ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease, has seen him transcend his life as a professional football player and reach thousands of people.
At the SAT, we will be raffling off several deBeer products as well as a custom molded Defender Mouthguard to raise funds for O.J.’s charity, the Brigance Brigade. The money will go to funding research for a cure to ALS at the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins University.
Tickets for the raffle cost $5 and will be sold at several of the vendor locations on-site and at the tournament registration area.
Literature about ALS will be distributed in the Team Bags for the tournament. For more information about this dynamic cause visit the websites below.
